Reserves He Searched for through
Three Questions
It happened when President Kim Il Sung visited the then Pyongyang Textile Mill where the rehabilitation was at its height right after the ceasefire.
He was briefed on the fact that the project was slow in progress because bricks were not supplied to the construction site. After looking round the construction site for a while, he called the commanding officer of the unit in charge of the rehabilitation of the textile mill.
He asked how many soldiers were mobilised for the construction.
“Yes, twenty thousand.”
He again asked how many bricks would be there if each soldier collected five used bricks.
“Yes, a hundred thousand bricks.”
The commanding officer did not fully understand the meaning of his questions.
The President again asked how many bricks if each soldier collected ten bricks.
“Yes, 200,000.”
The commanding officer slurped the end of his words.
When the President raised the third question, he came to understand the meaning of his question. The commanding officer stood at attention and told of his determination to solve the problem of the bricks through the gathering of more than twenty bricks by each soldier.
After all, 400,000 bricks were solved through three questions.
